Singapore - 21 March 2014 - The Energy Market Authority (EMA) today announced "Building Energy Connections" as the theme for the 2014 Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW). The theme reflects how global and regional integration of energy networks hold the potential to positively shape our energy future, and how economies and energy markets are becoming increasingly interconnected. Against this backdrop, SIEW 2014 will provide a useful platform for participants to explore solutions and collaboration opportunities to tackle our energy challenges in an increasingly interdependent world.

Attracting over 10,000 delegates from over 60 countries in 2013, SIEW 2014 will once again bring together global energy leaders from government, industry, academia and international organisations to share their unique energy perspectives. Kicking off SIEW 2014, the SIEW Opening Keynote Address and Singapore Energy Summit will provide a platform for high-level dialogue of key energy issues shaping Asia's energy connections, balancing tomorrow's energy choices, maximizing the potential of renewables, and highlight the role that innovation and technology plays in energy sustainability.

This seventh edition of SIEW will also bring together the world's leading conferences & exhibitions covering the entire energy spectrum including gas, downstream, renewables and energy infrastructure financing. Returning for yet another successful year, Downstream Asia, Gas Asia Summit, and the PV Asia Pacific Conference will offer fresh insights on the latest trends across the energy space. SIEW 2014 will also include two new events - Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Asian Utility Financial and the Investment Conference and European Union Business Avenue Clean Technology Exhibition -- reflecting the growing reach of participants, and the expanding diversity of energy topics addressed at SIEW. Another key event is the Platt's Annual Top 250 Global Energy Company Awards Dinner.

SIEW 2014 will be held from 27 to 31 October at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Visit www.siew.gov.sg for more information.
