The number of electric cars worldwide is growing rapidly and will jump from 5 million today to 300 million by 2040, says BP’s Chief Economist, Spencer Dale. This represents a 60-fold increase. While there remain concerns about electric vehicles that must be addressed, such as the second life use of batteries and regulations, BP believes that there is a bright future for the market.
