About Dato' Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood, Executive Director, ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE)
Dato' Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood began his career at Tenaga Nasional Berhad Engineers Sdn. Bhd. and brings over 30 years of professional experience across Malaysia and Australia's energy sectors. He has worked with national power utilities, independent power producers, transmission network service providers (TNSPs), regulators, and as a consultant in renewable energy. Over the years, he has held a range of technical and leadership roles, including construction engineer, project manager, technical advisor, systems planning engineer, and power system study specialist.
From 2012 to 2017, he led Electricity Market Operations at Malaysia's Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga), before serving as CEO of the Malaysia Nuclear Power Corporation from 2017 to 2018. He returned to the Energy Commission as Chief Operating Officer in 2018, became Acting CEO in 2019. He was confirmed in the role in August that year. Beyond Malaysia, his international experience includes key roles in Australia's energy sector, including at ElectraNet Pty Ltd and Senergy Econnect Australia Pty Ltd.
Dato' Razib was appointed Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) in April 2024. He is focused on advancing regional cooperation and accelerating ASEAN's transition to a secure, inclusive, and sustainable energy future. Under his leadership, ACE continues to drive collaboration across the region as a catalyst, knowledge hub, and policy advisor for ASEAN Member States.
