The IEA Regional Cooperation Centre was officially launched in Singapore. IEA Executive Director Dr Fatih Birol said: “The opening of the IEA’s new office in Singapore is a historic moment for the IEA and signals a step change in our relationship with Southeast Asia. We look forward to working much more closely with all the countries in this dynamic and fast-growing region, whose influence over global energy trends is markedly increasing.”

During the Singapore Energy Summit Keynote, H.E. Dr Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General, ASEAN, said the ASEAN Power Grid is crucial for enhancing energy resilience, regional integration, and advancing a low carbon future. A significant milestone was achieved with the completion of the first phase of the Lao PDR-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore Power Integration Project, showcasing the feasibility and benefits of multilateral cross-border collaboration.
