Hydrogen has emerged as a promising candidate for electricity generation, especially as countries move towards decarbonisation and renewable energy sources. Hydrogen can be produced from a range of sources, including renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. This means that hydrogen can play a key role in balancing electricity supply and demand, especially as intermittent renewables become a larger share of the grid.
|
|
However, there are challenges to the widespread adoption of hydrogen for electricity, such as the cost of producing and distributing hydrogen. The panel discussion will explore the potential role of hydrogen in a future energy system, the challenges and potential solutions, including advances in renewable hydrogen production and the development of hydrogen infrastructure.
