Yesterday's SIEW Thinktank Roundtables showcased the key developments shaping a diverse and resilient energy system in Asia. At the opening of SIEW Thinktank Roundtable A:
- Mr Jonathan Goh, Director, External Relations, Energy Market Authority of Singapore, emphasised the need to consider sustainability, resilience and affordability in meeting rising demand for energy in Southeast Asia. He noted that Singapore is conducting trials and pilot projects on biomethane and ammonia as energy sources, as well as exploring carbon capture and storage solutions.
- In his Opening Remarks, Dato' Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood, Executive Director, ASEAN Centre for Energy said that the future of the region's energy security lies with the ASEAN Power Grid (APG). He shared how the launch of a new financing initiative will support the development of the APG and mobilise large-scale financing for cross-border power interconnections.
