Osaka Gas is a leading energy supplier in Japan with a history going back more than one century. Founded in 1897 and beginning operations in 1905, the company serves 6 million natural gas customers in the Kansai Region of central Japan, including the urban centers of Osaka, where the company is headquartered, Kobe and Kyoto. It is the second largest domestic supplier, accounting for 24% of all natural gas sold in Japan. From April 2016, it entered household electricity market, acquiring more than 600 thousand customers so far.
