The Singapore Energy Summit (SES) facilitates high-level dialogue on energy issues centered on this year’s theme, “Advancing the Energy Transition”. The SES discussions will focus on:

This panel will explore Asia’s role in advancing the energy transition and how global energy players and countries can work together to galvanise our efforts towards sustainability. Opportunities and frameworks needed to accelerate the transition will be discussed.

This panel will discuss how the economy can be restructured to be greener, to accelerate growth and job creation. It will also explore the significance of the green economy and the ways to accelerate the greening of industries, cities, buildings, and transport in the region.

This session explores the drivers for innovation across the energy sector and how this can facilitate the low carbon energy transition. Low carbon innovations will be explored, along with the various ways needed to harness digitalisation to optimise our energy system and mitigate climate change.

SINGAPORE-IRENA HIGH-LEVEL FORUM (26 OCT, TUESDAY)

The Singapore-IRENA High Level Forum will discuss Investing in an Inclusive and Just Clean Energy Transition with a focus on three key themes:
- Mobilising investments to support the energy transition
- Shaping an inclusive and just energy transition
- Role of technology in driving the energy transition.

SINGAPORE-INTERNATIONAL ENERGY AGENCY (IEA) FORUM (27 OCT, WEDNESDAY)

The Singapore-International Energy Agency (IEA) Forum will feature the Southeast Asia launch of the IEA World Energy Outlook (WEO) 2021. The World Energy Outlook provides a comprehensive view of how the global energy system could develop in the coming decades, exploring in detail the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the energy sector, and actions that could accelerate clean energy transitions. The launch will be followed by a panel discussion on driving the clean energy transition in developing Asia, especially its implications for Southeast Asia.
