Highlights from SIEW Opening Remarks and Keynote Address: Creating a Low Carbon Energy Future Together

The SIEW 2020 Opening Keynote Address offered new perspectives on the role energy stakeholders play in building a low carbon energy future. Here are the highlights.

Minister for Trade and Industry Singapore, Chan Chun Sing, kickstarted the session with his Opening Remarks. He outlined Singapore’s clean energy aspirations and how the country plans to establish the foundations to leverage low carbon energy solutions.

Following Minister Chan’s Opening Remarks, Hon. Angus Taylor MP, Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction, Australia, delivered his keynote and highlighted the importance of collaboration to advance innovative low emissions technologies.

Dr Jochen Eickholt, Member of the Executive Board, Siemens Energy AG, then took the stage for his Keynote Address. He shared his perspective on the latest renewable and clean energy developments to achieve a more sustainable future.

Dr Eickholt was later joined by Valentin de Miguel, Senior Managing Director and Strategy & Consulting Lead, Growth Markets from Accenture, for a diverse discussion on the key trends in energy system transformation for a low carbon future.
