Dr L.H. Koh leads the Smart Grid and Power Electronics Consortium Singapore (SPECS), a National Research Foundation’s national technology consortium, hosted at Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N). SPECS aims to transfer institutes of higher learning intellectual property and know-how to industries for commercialization solutions.

He has been instrumental in promoting on-grid and off-grid smart grid development and deployment, integration of distributed energy resources, advanced power electronics demonstration, energy sustainability and energy conservation in buildings and districts. He is serving as an Adjunct Professor at the Singapore University of Social Sciences. He serves in both local and international IEEE conferences as an organizing and/or management committee member.
