Dr Gu Hongbin is Deputy Director General of China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute (CREEI) and a visiting professor of Beijing Normal University. Since August 1989, DDG Gu has devoted himself to planning, design, consulting and censoring of hydropower and environmental protection industries.

Dr Gu is a leading researcher in hydropower planning and environmental protection work, including drafting on specification, method, and standard, researches, information service of national renewable energy, and reviews and approval of renewable energy projects, and planning and compiling of national renewable energy development.
