Hiromichi TANOUE has been working for the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) in Japan for more than 20 years. He now serves as the head of the Policy Planning and Coordination Division at the Electricity and Gas Market Surveillance Commission (EGC).

Before taking on his current position, Mr. Tanoue held various positions of electricity and energy policy in the Government of Japan. He also has an experience in the industry policy and SME policy.

He was educated at Kyushu University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in physics.
