Jin Young Lee
HYUNDAI Engineering & Construction
Jinyoung is a highly skilled nuclear engineer with extensive expertise in nuclear reactor design, safety evaluation, and high-level nuclear waste management. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at Hyundai Engineering & Construction (HDEC), he has played a key role in conceptualizing and designing a molten salt reactor, with a focus on the core and integral system. He also manages the comprehensive safety evaluation system for high-level nuclear waste disposal in South Korea, focusing on nuclear physics.
Before joining HDEC, he spent over a decade at KEPCO Nuclear Fuel Company (KNF), where he was a Senior Researcher in the Core Engineering Department. During his time at KNF, he led various projects, including in-core fuel management, design optimization, nuclear safety analysis, and fuel product management.
He holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from Seoul National University, where he developed a convolutional neural network for predicting two-dimensional core power distributions in pressurized water reactors (PWRs). His technical leadership and innovative contributions continue to drive advancements in the nuclear energy sector.
