H.E Professor Dr. Mahmoud Esmat is the current Egyptian Minister of Electricity & Renewable Energy. He has served as Minister of Public Business Sector since August 2022.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Cairo University, and a doctorate in engineering from Kellogg University in Germany.

Esmat began his life as a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering.

He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cairo Air Port Company from 2013 to 2014, and Chairman of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation from 2014 to 2016.

Dr. Esamt He has extensive experience throughout his career in the petrochemical and Liquefied petroleum gas industries.
