With nearly 30 years of experience in the energy industry, Mitesh Patel leads the international business for SunCable, a world-leading renewable energy innovator built on an ambition to harness the powerful potential of Australian sunshine. As Chief Operating Officer and Interim CEO, Mitesh’s key focus at SunCable is to drive the development the world's largest renewable energy subsea interconnector, Australia-Asia PowerLink, a groundbreaking project that will deliver 1.75GW AC on a 24/7 basis from Australia to Singapore. Previously, Mitesh led SunCable’s commercial strategy and operations as Chief Commercial Officer.
Mitesh’s experience over three decades spans the structuring and executing of complex deals and carrying out the development and construction of projects on behalf of large independent power producers.
Before joining SunCable, Mitesh established and subsequently led Black & Veatch’s Renewable Energy business across Asia, working with global companies to raise energy efficiency performance of infrastructure and provide technical services for solar, wind and battery energy storage systems. He has held senior roles at General Electric, Worley Parsons, and Shell and has served as a trusted adviser to lenders, developers, and investors for project finance and investment. He has extensive technical experience in thermal and renewable power projects and holds an MBA from NUS and Copenhagen Business School.
