Peter Green is the Deputy Laboratory Director for Science and Technology and the Chief Research Officer for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Golden, Colorado, USA.  He began his career at Sandia National Laboratories, where he spent just over a decade. Prior to his appointment at NREL in 2016, Dr. Green was the Vincent T. and Gloria M. Gorguze endowed Professor of Engineering at the University of Michigan (UM), Ann Arbor. Dr. Green was Professor Chemical Engineering, and the BF Goodrich endowed Professor of Materials Engineering, at the University of Texas, Austin, prior to his appointment at UM. He is a former President of the Materials Research Society (MRS).  Dr. Green was elected by his peers to the status of fellow of the following professional scientific societies: American Physical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), American Association of Arts and Science and the MRS. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. He earned his BA and MA degrees in Physics from Hunter College and his Masters and Doctoral degrees from Cornell University.
