Dr. Saleh Kharabsheh began his academic journey in 1991 with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Regional Engineering College-Durgapur (India). This was followed by a Master of Science degree in the same field from the University of Jordan in 1994.

In 1994, Dr. Kharabsheh simultaneously applied his engineering expertise in quality control at a Steel Fabrication Company. He also shared his knowledge as a teaching assistant at the Higher Institute of Industrial Technology in Tripoli. By the end of 1995, Dr. Kharabsheh transitioned his focus to the public sector and joined the Productive Projects Department at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.

In 2000, Dr. Kharabsheh embarked on a Ph.D. in Engineering & Renewable Energy at the University of Florida, graduating in 2003. Following his Ph.D., Dr. Kharabsheh returned to academia. He shared his expertise as an assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering at Hashemite University.

In 2005, Dr. Kharabsheh's career trajectory shifted back to the public sector. He rejoined the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, this time as the Director of Projects Department.

Dr. Kharabsheh's distinguished career path ascended to prominent leadership roles within the Jordanian government. Following his tenure as Director of Projects at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, he was appointed Secretary General from 2009 to 2017. In this strategic position, Dr. Kharabsheh was at the forefront of national development planning and international relations.

Dr. Kharabsheh's served as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources from 2017 to 2018, demonstrating his commitment to this critical sector. This was followed by a period as Minister of Environment in 2019, showcasing his well-rounded understanding of the interplay between energy and environmental sustainability, and Acting Minister of Agriculture in 2020. His reappointment as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in October 2021 underscores his continued leadership in this crucial domain.

Dr. Kharabsheh's reputation as an energy expert is further solidified by his extensive participation in national and international forums. He has actively engaged in workshops and conferences, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Furthermore, his publications in local and international journals demonstrate his commitment to scholarship and advancing the field of energy.

On the international front, Dr. Kharabsheh's influence is undeniable. His positions as Alternate Governor for the World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development showcase his commitment to fostering international cooperation. Dr. Kharabsheh's dedication to sustainable development is further underscored by his board memberships, he served on the board of Directors of the Natural Resources Authority, and as a member of the board of the Agricultural Credit Corporation which further highlights his well-rounded understanding of the linkages between energy, environment, and food security.
