Erwin joined OCBC in July 2024 to lead and grow the bank’s Energy, Infrastructure & Utilities sector, which includes renewables and LNG value chain business globally. He has three decades of senior banking experience with extensive business origination and execution, client relationship, credit management and country management credentials.

Prior to joining OCBC, Erwin held various senior leadership positions at ING such as Network Head of Southeast Asia, Singapore Country Manager, and Regional Head of Infrastructure, Utilities, Power & Renewables.

He has taken on different front-office roles in Jakarta, Hong Kong and Singapore covering diverse sectors such as power, water, infrastructure/PPP (hard, social, digital), healthcare, food & beverages, metals & mining, telecom, and agriculture. He successfully closed over US$25 billion worth of project, structured, ECA/Multilateral-covered, corporate and acquisition finance deals. The power projects financed were from thermal to renewables, including gas, FSRU, hydro, solar, wind, geothermal, batteries, pumped storage, waste-to-energy. He was credited for building up the utilities and infrastructure franchise for ING in Asia and played a significant role in developing the wholesale banking business in Australia. He spent a valuable period with ING’s Credit Restructuring team managing the loan portfolio affected by the Asian financial crisis.

Erwin holds a BSc in Finance from Louisiana State University and an MBA in International Finance & Banking from Georgia State University, Atlanta, U.S.A.
