Atty. Felix William “Wimpy” Buquid Fuentebella serves as Undersecretary of the Department of Energy (DOE) - Philippines.
He first held the position from September 2016 to June 2022 and was reappointed in September 2022. At present, he oversees the Energy Policy and Planning Bureau (EPPB) and the Administrative Services (AS) of the Department.
A native of Tigaon, Camarines Sur, Wimpy previously served as a Member of the Philippine House of Representatives, representing the Fourth Legislative District of Camarines Sur.
His career in public service began as a Political Affairs Officer (1997–2000) and later as Chief of Staff (2007–2010). He was appointed Housing Commissioner of the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) in 2010, and subsequently served as Deputy Secretary General of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) in 2011.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines and his Juris Doctor from San Sebastian College–Recoletos Institute of Law. In 2023, he joined the faculty of the University of the Philippines Diliman, Virata School of Business.
