Gavin has over 25 years’ experience in the energy sector, with this experience largely focused on market competitiveness and efficiency issues.

Currently Gavin heads up the Network Pricing Branch at the AER, one of the branches responsible for regulating transmission and distribution networks in Australia’s national energy market. Among his previous roles at the AER, he led the branch responsible for monitoring and reporting on wholesale market competition and efficiency and the branch that assessed the energy market impact of the Australian Governments’ coal market interventions. Gavin also has experience at the Australian anti trust agency, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, and the UK energy regulator, Ofgem.

Gavin holds a Masters degree in Economics.
