George A. Pickart is Managing Director of Global Government Affairs & Policy for GE Vernova. He is based in Washington DC and holds responsibility for international policy, regulation and related issues. He joined the General Electric Company in 2008 and held several prior roles at GE until GE Vernova’s spin-off as an independent company in April 2024. Previously, George worked for the CMS Energy Corporation of Jackson, Michigan, including serving as head of the company’s Washington, D.C. office. Earlier, he served as Senior Adviser for South Asian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State and also worked for 10 years in various staff positions in the United States Senate, including as Professional Staff Member for the Near East and South Asia at the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. George holds a Master of Arts degree in World Politics from the Catholic University of America and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and French from Randolph-Macon College. He resides in Arlington, VA.
