Lisa Sachs is Director of the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (CCSI) and of Columbia’s recently-launched M.S. in Climate Finance. Since 2008, she has built CCSI into a globally respected center of expertise on aligning investment with sustainable development and climate goals. She works with governments, international institutions, business, and civil society to advance integrated approaches to the energy transition—linking planning, regulation, and finance—and to develop pragmatic solutions to some of the world’s most complex sustainability challenges. She has also been a leading voice in shaping debates on reforming the global financial architecture and international investment governance. She received a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University, and a J.D. and a Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia University.
