Lynda Hayden leads the Regional Partnerships Branch in the Australian Government’s Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. With a particular focus on the Pacific, Southeast Asia, Europe and multilateral fora, Lynda provides strategic leadership to advance net zero transitions while maintaining energy security, reliability and affordability.
Lynda has a wealth of public sector experience in international and multilateral affairs, with over 20 years of experience in the Australian Public Service. She moved into the field of climate change and energy in June 2023. Prior to this, Lynda held a number of positions across the agriculture portfolio, including leading Australia’s representation at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome (2019 -2023).
Lynda has an academic background in science. She is married and has a young son who is passionate about birdwatching.
