Dr Ming Tan is the Global Practice Leader for Nuclear at Mott MacDonald, where he leads global initiatives focused on the deployment of advanced nuclear technologies, particularly small modular reactors (SMRs). With nearly 25 years of experience in the nuclear sector, Ming brings technical expertise and strategic insight into the delivery of complex nuclear infrastructure across the full project lifecycle.
He is currently spearheading several SMR programmes worldwide, including pioneering efforts in Singapore, and is actively engaged in supporting ASEAN nations in exploring the safe, secure, and sustainable adoption of nuclear energy as a low-carbon power source. Ming is a strong advocate for regulatory harmonisation and streamlined deployment pathways, and has authored over 40 international publications, covering various topics including nuclear development and policy.
Originally from Southeast Asia and now based in the UK, Ming is passionate about enabling regional collaboration and capacity building to unlock the potential of nuclear energy in the ASEAN region.
