Nitin Apte is a Partner at Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), now part of BlackRock, and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Vena Group. The Group includes Vena Energy, a leading green energy platform in Asia-Pacific—and Vena Nexus, a digital infrastructure business focused on AI-ready, renewably powered data centers. Based in Singapore, Nitin joined GIP in 2018 following its acquisition of Equis Energy, and was appointed to lead the formation and strategic growth of Vena Energy.
Under his leadership, he significantly expanded Vena Energy’s operating portfolio and development pipeline across the regions: Japan, North Asia-Pacific (including South Korea, Taiwan, and Australia), Southeast Asia (including the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand), and India. Vena Group also includes Vena Nexus, a digital infrastructure platform focused on AI-ready, renewably powered data centers—positioning the business at the intersection of the energy transition and digital transformation.
Prior to joining Vena Group, Nitin was President and CEO of Materia, a specialty materials company, where he drove rapid growth through strategic partnerships and manufacturing expansion. He also spent over 25 years at SABIC and General Electric, holding senior roles across profit-and-loss leadership, marketing, innovation, supply chain management, Six Sigma, manufacturing, and product management.
Nitin holds a Bachelor of Technology in Aeronautical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He earned a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from The Ohio State University.
