Dr. Nor Azlan bin Mostafa is currently the Chief Strategy and Planning Officer of Single Buyer Malaysia (a ring-fenced entity within Tenaga Nasional Berhad). He is responsible to develop medium-term and long-term demand forecast & generation plan for Peninsular Malaysia, as well as assisting the government in developing the Malaysian Electricity Supply Industry.
He started his career in Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) as a Maintenance Engineer in 1996, involved in maintenance of open-cycle and combine-cycle gas turbine plants.
He then continued his graduate studies at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom where he obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2008.
He took up a position as a Senior Lecturer at the University Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), in 2008, where he assumed the responsibilities of Head of Thermofluids & Energy and Head of Nuclear. He was involved in the Government's early initiatives of considering the possibility of having nuclear power as part of Peninsular Malaysia's energy mix.
In 2011, he joined the TNB Planning Division, where he then migrated to Single Buyer in 2017, where he continues till today.
