Mr Ong Teng Koon serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Energy Interconnections (“SGEI”), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Singapore Government tasked with developing crossborder electricity interconnectors.

Prior to his current role, Mr Ong held senior leadership positions at SP Group from 2016 to 2024, including Managing Director of SP PowerInterconnect and Head of Regulatory Management. He also has over a decade of industry experience at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, where he traded commodities in Chicago, London, Tokyo, Shanghai and Singapore.

In addition to his corporate experience, Mr Ong served as a Member of Parliament in Singapore from 2011 to 2020.

Mr Ong holds a Master’s in Finance from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics with First Class Honours from the London School of Economics.
