Rahul Gupta is a Senior Expert in McKinsey’s Singapore office with over 20 years of experience across the energy and mobility sectors. He has deep expertise in power, gas, and LNG markets spanning Southeast Asia, South Asia, Australia, and Northeast Asia, and advises leading utilities, investors, and start-ups on strategy, investment, and performance.
Rahul has helped develop power-market perspectives and renewable-energy business builds — including solar and distributed generation — for multiple independent power producers and state-owned electricity companies across ASEAN. Other examples of his work include supporting the launch of an e-mobility venture in the two-wheeler segment, from ideation to scaling, focusing on disruptive models such as hybrid D2C, battery-as-a-service, and investor attraction. In parallel, he has also developed gas-market outlooks for several ASEAN nations to assess the evolving role of LNG in national energy mixes and in transportation.
