Dato’ Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood brings over 30 years of professional experience, having worked with both Malaysian and Australian national power utilities, independent power producers, renewable energy consultancies, and as a government regulator.
Throughout his career, Dato’ Razib has held various key roles, including construction engineer, project manager, technical advisor, systems planning engineer, and power system study specialist.
He began his career as an engineer at Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). After several years with an independent power producer and as an energy consultant in Malaysia and Australia, he led Electricity Market Operations at the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) of Malaysia. He later served as Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Nuclear Power Corporation under the Prime Minister’s Department. Dato’ Razib subsequently became Chief Operating Officer and Acting CEO at the Energy Commission of Malaysia before being appointed CEO in August 2019, where he continues to drive progress and innovation in the region’s energy sector.
Dato’ Razib was officially appointed as the Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) on 1 February 2025.
