Dr. Sompop is the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy of Thailand. He got his Bachelor of Economics degree from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand and Master of Science in Energy Economics and Policy from University of Surrey, England. After his graduation, he worked as an analyst at the Department of Energy Business and then Policy and Strategy Management Office, Ministry of Energy. In 2005, he pursued Ph.D. in Economics at Carnegie Mellon University, USA with the funding from the Royal Thai Government and completed his degree in 2010. After graduation, he went back to work at Policy and Strategy Management Office.
