Xiao Lu specializes in analysis of China’s gas and power markets. Mr. Lu’s research focus includes natural gas and power market fundamentals, policy analysis, and China’s provincial energy and energy company profiles. He also participates in consulting work on Chinese power and gas markets. Prior to joining S&P Global, Mr. Lu was a strategic market analyst at Joy Global with a focus on the Chinese coal mining industry. Before that, he worked at IHS CERA (now IHS Markit) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he covered power demand modeling and research on energy efficiency, power transmission, and coal-fired plant retrofits. Based in Beijing, Mr. Lu holds a Bachelor of Science from Xi'an Jiaotong University, China, and a Master of Arts from Northeastern University, United States. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
