Yasser M. Mufti was appointed Executive Vice President of Products & Customers from Sept 1st 2023. A new role created to oversee all Downstream Commercial Activities.
He was Senior Vice President of Fuels from July 2021, and previously Vice President, Strategy & Market Analysis beginning in June 2017. Prior to that, he was Executive Director of New Business Development, and earlier President & CEO, Aramco Trading .
From 2013 to 2014, Mr. Mufti led the Strategic Transformation Office, responsible for guiding the company through a corporate wide transformation program, afterwards he created and led Aramco’s first M&A function.
From 2012 to 2013, he served as Saudi Arabia’s Governor to OPEC and adviser to HE Ali I. Al Naimi, former Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. Mr. Mufti was appointed Chairman of OPEC’s Board of Governors during this time.
He joined Saudi Aramco in 1995 and spent the first seven years in Refined Product Sales. before continuing his career in Strategy and Planning. He then ran several Upstream departments, including Sea Water Injection, Production Services, and a Gas Plant. Prior to joining Saudi Aramco Mr. Mufti worked as a wireline engineer with Schlumberger for five years in several countries.
Mr. Mufti holds a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and an MBA from City University of London he also completed an Executive Development program from North Western's Kellogg School of Management.
Mr. Mufti serves as Chairman of the Board for Valvoline Global, Saudi Aramco Jubail Refinery (SASREF), Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (YASREF), and all three of Aramco’s global service companies.
In addition, he sits on the Boards of Motiva Enterprises LLC, and Aramco Trading Company (ATC).
He has also served previously on several boards of Aramco Affiliates in the manufacturing investment and health care sectors.
