Neil Semple joined The Lantau Group (Hong Kong) as a Principal in October 2012.
He has worked for the past twelve years advising gas, power companies and energy regulators. For gas companies, his work has included gas monetization plans and strategies, assessing competition between piped gas and LNG, appraisal of LNG terminal regasification tariff mechanisms, analysing the potential market for remote gas to reach market by small scale LNG, the economics of CNG and LNG in transport, appraising the potential for gas to displace other fuels in industry and inter-fuel competition. On the power side, his studies included the impact of LNG entering a power market traditionally dominated by use of alternative fuels such as piped domestic gas, power asset evaluation in IPP transactions, power market entry plans, and thermal and renewable power plant economics.
