Youth@SIEW: Engaging Young Energy Innovators to Support and Build the Clean Energy Sector

Youth@SIEW: Youths Tackle Real-World Energy Challenges with Winning Ideas

Creativity and youthful spark won the day as more than 110 student teams from 36 schools contributed winning ideas for a more sustainable energy future. Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Low Yen Ling, lauded the teams during Youth@SIEW, noting that this was the highest number of participants for the Singapore Energy Grand Challenge (Youth). Energy-Industry Scholarship Recognises Aspirations of Four Youths to Build a Better Tomorrow

Four Singaporean engineering students hailing from Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic took the Energy-Industry Scholarship in an Award Ceremony held during Youth@SIEW. SIEW Live: Winning the Energy Transition Marathon

Carsten Dommermuth, Vice President and General Manager, APAC of INNIO Jenbacher, believes there is no time to lose in the path to net zero. He shares that the region needs to move away from its reliance on fossil and carbon-intensive fuels. In this, INNIO is helping to support regional governments in their shift to hydrogen technologies for a more sustainable and secure energy infrastructure.

Last Day of SIEW 2022

We’re nearing the end of SIEW 2022! This morning is dedicated to the youths, with Ms Low Yen Ling, Minister of State for Trade and Industry & for Culture, Community and Youth, giving the Opening Remarks at Youth@SIEW. This is a platform to engage tertiary students and educators in a meaningful dialogue with industry and government on energy issues and career opportunities in the energy sector.

With the event back onsite after two years, there will be a Youth@SIEW exhibition onsite showcasing energy-related innovations by students.

Expect more insightful discussions from today's SIEW Thinktank Roundtables, organised by Energy Studies Institute @ National University of Singapore, Energy Research Institute @ Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Institute of Technology, and British Chamber of Commerce Singapore.
