H.E. Dr João Galamba shares his perspectives on clean energy developments in Portugal and the role of climate policies in achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. He also highlights how Portugal is collaborating with partners worldwide to support the latest hydrogen and low carbon technology developments.

About H.E. Dr João Galamba, Deputy Minister and Secretary of State for Energy, The Portuguese Republic

João Saldanha de Azevedo Galamba was born in Lisbon, 1976. He holds a degree in Economics (Universidade Nova de Lisboa) He completed the academic part of the Ph.D. in Political Science at the London School of Economics and taught Political Philosophy.

He worked at Banco Santander de Negócios, at DiamondCluster International, at the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union and at the Integrated Continuing Care Mission Unit. He arrived at the Portuguese Parliament in 2009, being a member of the XI, XII and XIII Legislatures. He coordinated the deputies of the Socialist Party in the Budget and Finance Committee and was the Vice-President of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group. He served at the XXI Constitutional Government as Secretary of State for Energy and is currently Deputy Minister and Secretary of State for Energy at the XXII Constitutional Government.
