Singapore's energy sector marked a significant milestone on 7 May, when its LNG terminal received its first commercial cargo and commenced commercial operations.
Onsite to witness the arrival of the first commercial cargo at the terminal was S Iswaran, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade & Industry. Minister Iswaran said the terminal will be crucial towards contributing to the "development of Singapore as a regional gas hub, catalyse LNG-related business opportunities and create new job opportunities for Singaporeans".
Also present was Neil McGregor, Chief Executive of the Singapore LNG Corporation (SLNG), the LNG terminal operator.
