Japan has a reputation for cutting-edge technology and a robust push toward renewable energy technologies has become a priority, said Yoriko Kawaguchi, the former Japanese Minister of the Environment and former Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Kawaguchi was speaking at an Asia Society panel discussion with David Sandalow, the Inaugural Fellow at Columbia University's Center on Global Energy Policy.
