Kami Kaur

Executive General Manager, Network Regulation
Australian Energy Regulator

As the AER’s EGM of Network Regulation, Kami plays a central role overseeing complex regulatory determinations and infrastructure projects that are essential for Australia’s energy transition. Her role is focused on ensuring that network investments—from traditional "poles and wires" to large-scale transmission projects—remain prudent, efficient, and aligned with the long-term interests of consumers.

Kami has held pivotal leadership roles across several areas of policy reform focused on the evolving landscape of the National Electricity Market. Recently, this has included leading the AER’s involvement in the work to establish New South Wales’ Renewable Energy Zones (REZ), which is centralising renewable energy generation, storage, and transmission to replace aging coal-fired power plants while ensuring a reliable, affordable, and clean energy future.

Kami is recognised for her ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, from government policy makers, regulators and networks to regional community advocates, and she is keenly focused on ensuring that the regulatory environment supports a reliable and affordable energy future.
