Session 1 – Global LNG and Gas Outlook: Strengthening Energy Security in Asia As Asia's energy demand continues to grow, LNG and natural gas will remain critical in ensuring reliable, affordable and secure energy supplies while supporting the region's energy transition. This panel will examine the outlook for LNG and gas markets in Asia, including evolving demand and supply trends, investment in LNG infrastructure, and the role of diversified and resilient supply chains in enhancing regional energy security. Panellists will also discuss how governments and industry can strengthen regional cooperation and long-term procurement strategies to ensure secure, competitive and sustainable gas supplies for Asia's evolving energy needs.
Session 2 – Energy Security Through Accelerated Electrification This panel examines Australia’s strategic vision for COP31 in building a resilient, low-carbon energy architecture across the Indo-Pacific. Amidst heightened global conflict and supply chain vulnerabilities, policy makers, regional leaders, and energy experts will discuss accelerating the transition from fossil fuel dependence to green energy sovereignty, leveraging cross-border power trade, and driving global electrification targets to shield economies from geopolitical shocks.
Session 3 – Driving the Grid of the Future: China's Path to Large-Scale System Integration As China continues to build one of the world's largest and most advanced power systems, the development of the grid of the future will be critical to enabling a secure, reliable and low-carbon energy system. This panel will examine how China is modernising its power grid through ultra-high-voltage (UHV) transmission, digitalisation, energy storage, and smart grid technologies to integrate growing shares of renewable energy at scale. Government officials, grid operators, and industry leaders will discuss the challenges and opportunities in building a more flexible and resilient electricity system, as well as the lessons that can support grid transformation and regional power system integration across Asia.
