The Low Carbon District (LCD) is a new initiative to testbed and deploy low-carbon technologies at a district scale. It aims to do a large scale system integration of mid to high-TRL technologies in Cleantech Park. There are 4 areas the LCD will be focusing on:
- Modelling & Simulation
- District energy systems
- Internet of Energy
- Smart interconnected buildings
This Roundtable seeks to:
- Provide an open platform for intellectual exchanges between both private and public sector professionals with regards to major technology hurdles, possibilities and best practices in the design and operation of such a district.
- Identify the challenges in pulling together this system level solution, both technical and non-technical e.g., leadership inertia; and the opportunities for deployment beyond Singapore.
- Discuss how policies and standards can be developed to spur the development and deployment of more low-carbon districts in Singapore.
