Scaling the Hydrogen Economies in Asia

Low Carbon Technology for the Energy Sector

Background

ASEAN markets have extraordinary potential to incorporate hydrogen into their economies, as it lends itself to solving the region’s dynamic energy needs. While most of the ASEAN market has hydrogen strategies in place or in development, there are hurdles for the industry to overcome in order to assist in the energy transition and meet the most ambitious climate objectives.

Co-organised by the Energy Market Authority of Singapore and the US Department of Commerce, the Singapore-US Forum aims to explore financing opportunities and showcase innovative hydrogen companies. With the theme “Scaling the Hydrogen Economies in Asia", the event will convene regional stakeholders to foster an ASEAN ecosystem conducive to hydrogen investment and deployment. It will highlight public-private collaboration strategies to accelerate hydrogen adoption across Asia, addressing both production and consumption aspects of this critical energy transition resource.

Topics:

  • Hydrogen as a key energy carrier for a smooth energy transition
  • Financing opportunities to lower costs and accelerate hydrogen adoption.
  • Facilitating technology and innovation through partnerships
  • Policy and regulatory support to harmonise standards and reduce commercialisation barriers.
