About H.E. Stephen Marchisio, Ambassador of France to Singapore, French Embassy Singapore

H.E. Stephen Marchisio assumed his post as French Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore on 17 January 2025. Prior to that, he served as Diplomatic Adviser (Head of Pole) in the Prime Minister's Office from September 2023.

A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées (ENSTA) in Brittany, he began his career at the French Ministry of Defense, within the Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA). He first served as a technical expert and later as an architect overseeing the contractual and technical management of aeronautical programmes from 1999 to 2007. He was later appointed Chief of Staff to the Director of International Development from 2007 to 2010.

In 2010, he joined the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs as Head of the Defense Industries and Technologies Office within the Directorate for Globalization. Three years later, he became Head of the Sub-Directorate for Support to Strategic Sectors. In 2016, he took on the role of Deputy Director of the Continental Europe Directorate.

Mr Marchisio was appointed Technical Advisor for Strategic Affairs in the Prime Minister's Office in May 2017. He later served as Deputy Director of the Asia and Oceania Division at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs from November 2020.
