Mr. Norman Bay shares his insights about the impact that digitalisation will have on the energy grid, especially through enabling the integration of renewables into the grid. He elaborates on how digitalisation will help to improve the efficiency, reliability and sustainability of the grid.

About Norman C. Bay, Partner, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, and Former Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commision

Norman C. Bay is a partner and head of the energy regulatory and enforcement group at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in Washington, DC. Mr. Bay advises clients on a wide range of energy issues, including policy, market rules and rates, mergers and acquicitions, infrastucture development, and enforcement and compliance. Mr. Bay Was Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commision (FERC) from 2015 to 2017 and a Commisioner from 2014 to 2015. Before becoming a Commisioner, he was the Director of the Office of Enforcement at FERC from 2009 to 2014. He was previously the U.S Attorney for the District of New Mexico and a Professor at the University of New Mexico School of Law. He is currently a Senior Fellow with Duke University and a member of the Advisory Board of the Irving Institute for Energy and Society at Dartmounth College.
