Singapore, 17 October 2022 – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Singapore, Lawrence Wong, will deliver the Singapore Energy Lecture. This will be followed by Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong who will deliver the SIEW Summit Opening Address at the 15th Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW). SIEW 2022 will return as a fully physical event at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from 25 to 28 October 2022.
2. This year’s SIEW Opening Keynote Address will feature two prominent speakers, Dr Fatih Birol, Executive Director, International Energy Agency (IEA) and Dr Ing Christian Bruch, President & Chief Executive Officer, Siemens Energy AG, who will share their insights and perspectives on this year’s theme, “A Resilient and Sustainable Energy Future.”
3. Energy ministers and industry leaders will convene at the Singapore Energy Summit to discuss and share views on areas surrounding the development of low carbon solutions and innovations as well as sustainable financing.
4. To celebrate the 15th edition of SIEW, the “SIEW Energy Showcase” will feature an interactive exhibition which explores the frameworks and industry innovations that are supporting Singapore’s transition to a low-carbon energy future. A newly introduced SIEW TechTable will feature discussions on the emerging energy innovations that will power the energy transitions of tomorrow.
5. Singapore will also partner with the IEA and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to co-host two high-level discussions on pertinent issues impacting regional energy transitions. Delegates can look forward to the Singapore-IEA Ministerial Roundtable, and the second edition of Singapore-IRENA High-Level Forum which is organised in partnership with the Asia Clean Energy Summit.
