About Daigas

The Daigas Group was launched in 2018 as a group brand of a corporate group led by Osaka Gas, a leading energy company and the second largest gas supplier in Japan with a history going back more than one century. Founded in 1897 and beginning operation in 1905, the company serves more than 5 million natural gas customers in the Kansai Region, the most populated area in western Japan, including Osaka, where the company is headquartered.

From April 2016, the company entered household power market, serving more than 1.4 million electricity customers so far. The Group’s total renewable power generation capacity has exceeded 640MW globally including those developed, acquired, and still under development. It is steadily increasing through capacity development and acquisition toward its target of 1,000MW globally by 2030.

Over the years, the Daigas Group has developed its natural gas business along the LNG value chain from upstream including natural gas E&P, LNG procurement and transportation to downstream including city gas production, distribution and marketing. 

In Southeast Asia, the Daigas Group’s downstream business has been expanding through its subsidiaries in the region, leveraging its expertise accumulated in the Japanese market: energy services and engineering businesses using natural gas based on its own energy conservation technologies to reduce CO2 emissions in Singapore and Thailand since 2013, in Indonesia since 2018, and natural gas distribution business in Vietnam since 2019. Also its upstream business has been growing through a collaboration since 2019 with AGP International Holdings Pte. Ltd., a company running engineering business mainly in Southeast Asia, and through Osaka Gas Energy Supply and Trading Pte. Ltd., the Daigas Group’s LNG trading arm established in Singapore.
