
The Energy Market Authority of Singapore recently launched the Singapore Energy Statistics (2015). The annual statistical publication provides a broad overview of Singapore’s energy landscape in 2014. A few highlights include:
- Singapore consumed 46,493 GWh of electricity – 42.6% of which was industrial-related
- The nation’s installed capacity of solar photovoltaic systems has increased 17 times between 2009 and 2014
- Natural gas continues to dominate Singapore’s energy mix, accounting for 95.5% of electricity generated in 2014
- Imports of natural gas grew by 4.5% to 10 Mtoe in 2014 – nearly a quarter of which were LNG
