Global Gas & LNG Market Development
Mr Duncan van Bergen leads Global Gas & LNG Market Development for Royal Dutch Shell, working with major stakeholders in the gas value chain--producers, buyers, regulators, governments and others – to promote informed decisions about the role of gas in energy.
Mr van Bergen's prior work at Shell included a variety of commercial and business development roles in Europe, Asia, the US and Latin America. He is based in Singapore.
Previously, he worked with McKinsey and Company's Oil & Gas practice, also based in Singapore. He led McKinsey's Asian gas practice and served governments, national oil companies, international oil companies, and investors in the oil & gas and chemicals industries across Asia on matters related to upstream business development and LNG and gas market development. He worked extensively with a number of Asian governments with regard to LNG market development and with clients on possible discontinuities in the global LNG market and on the shale gas opportunity in Asia.
Mr van Bergen earned a Master's Degree in Applied Economics from the University of Louvain in Belgium, an MBA from the Solvay Business School in Belgium, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.
