Mr Francois Bollon wrote the "Guidelines for Good Safety Practices in the Dimethyl Ether (DME) Industry", the draft of a "regulation for Dimethyl Ether LPG mixtures" and a guideline for "Safety Benchmarking in the DME Industry" for IDA. He also worked with Methanex about the safety aspects of DME.

Mr Bollon is graduated from Ecole des Mines de Paris and from the French Petroleum Institute. He worked in oil refining and new energies. He was a member of the Board of Elf Aquitaine and of Elf France from 1984 to 1988. From 1989, he managed various subsidiaries of Elf and Total in various fields: Car cleaning products, auto spare parts, lubricants, LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), dense-loading of catalysts in France for half of them and in China for the other ones. He notably started and managed Elf Lubricants Guangzhou in China. He also made a one-year strategic study along the Yangtse River about LPG in China.

Since 2005, Mr Bollon worked with Totalgaz as Dimethyl Ether (DME) Project Manager. He started and managed the ISO working group on the standards of DME for fuel from 2007 until 2011. Since 2009, he worked as a DME consultant for Total Gas and Power and the International DME Association (IDA).

He works presently as a consultant for IDA and various international companies for technical, marketing or management support.
