Mr Gilbert von der Aue is a member of the Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association and a regular speaker at CNG-related conferences throughout Southeast Asia.

Mr von der Aue is an advocator of compressed natural gas. With almost no CNG infrastructure in place, he set up the first CNG conversion workshop in Singapore in 2005. He heads the Oil & Gas department at C Melchers GmbH & Co, where his team engineered and designed the world's largest CNG station in Toh Tuck in 2009--a station able to refuel 500 cars an hour. Since 2005, the CNG activities of C Melchers have expanded into Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and, most recently, Myanmar. His input is often sought for by the respective government ministries to help establish a sustainable CNG roadmap for industry and transportation. Mr von der Aue was born in Singapore and speaks five languages. He is married and has a young daughter.
