Mr James Slutz has served as Assistant Secretary of Energy in the US, responsible for leading the Office of Fossil Energy which includes the coal, oil, and natural gas business lines in the Department of Energy.
Mr Slutz oversees a company that focuses on energy project development, technology commercialisation and strategic energy advisory services. He serves on the Advisory Boards of the Canada Institute of the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars, Hart Energy Publishing, and the University of Southern California's Induced Seismicity Project. He is also a Distinguished Associate of FACTS Global Energy. Prior to founding Global Energy Strategies in 2009, Mr Slutz served as Assistant Secretary of Energy in the United States. He also oversaw the nation's Strategic Petroleum Reserve and served as the primary policy advisor to the Secretary on fossil energy issues.
Mr Slutz holds an MBA from the Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business, and a BS degree from the Ohio State University, School of Natural Resources.
